Why work in Radiography?
Radiography is one of the most innovative aspects of healthcare that uses advanced technology to look inside patients' bodies, enabling a diagnosis to be made.
What sort of work can you do in Radiography at SCHT?
At Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust we have a small team of Diagnostic Radiographers across four sites based in Bridgnorth, Ludlow, Whitchurch and Oswestry all providing a radiography service to the county of Shropshire. Our Radiographers all work autonomously, providing a plain imaging service to out-patients, GP patients and those referred via the Minor Injuries Units (MIU). We have the same G.E. digital x-ray equipment on both the Bridgnorth and Ludlow x-ray sites that was installed in 2018, and x-ray over 200 patients per week across the two sites. This assists with familiarity should staff be required to work on either site. We also have Sonographers working autonomously at Bridgnorth and Ludlow providing a non-obstetric ultrasound service within the community setting.
