Spring 2024 Seasonal COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign

The government has accepted JCVI advice regarding the eligible cohorts for the Spring 2024 Campaign and NHSE has published the Spring 2024 COVID-19 Seasonal Campaign system letter which can be found here. JCVI have advised that a seasonal COVID-19 vaccine should be offered to:

  • Individuals aged 75 years and over, irrespective of residential setting (those individuals who turn 75 years of age by 30 June 2024 can be vaccinated at any point in the campaign)
  • Residents in a care home for older adults (as defined through CQC registration), irrespective of the individual’s age
  • Individuals aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed (as defined in the immunosuppression rows of Tables 3 or 4 in Chapter 14a of the Green Book).

Campaign start and end dates

Visits to older adult care homes and eligible housebound patients began week commencing 15 April 2024.

For all other eligible cohorts, vaccinations will start by 22 April 2024 and end on 30 June 2024.

Invitations and bookings

The NHS will plan to invite and vaccinate those eligible for a spring dose by 30 June, via a combination of local and national invitations.

The National Booking Service opened to the public to book appointments on Monday 15 April.
