Oral health plays a huge role in our overall health and well-being. We provide up to date oral health training for key front-line staff to build their capacity and enable them to promote the key oral health messages within their role. This includes health visiting and school nursing teams and early years staff.
Brilliant Brushers is an evidence-based supervised toothbrushing programme for 3-5-year-olds in targeted day nurseries and primary schools which aims to reduce the rates of tooth decay in children. We provide staff training and toothbrushing resources so staff can supervise the children to brush their teeth daily in the setting in a safe, effective and fun way, as well as encouraging the children to brush at home.
Brushing 4 Life is an evidence-based programme which aims to reduce the inequalities in children’s oral health.We provide toothbrush and toothpaste packs to our local health visiting teams who then distribute them to selected families at their 6-8 week, 1 year and 2 year visits with the aim of establishing an oral health routine from an early age.
Care to Smile is a locally developed NHS programme based on NICE guidance NG48: oral health for adults in care homes which aims to improve the oral health of care home residents.We assess key elements that CQC review and support the care home to ensure their mouth care provision, documentation and training is consistent with NG48
