Children's Constipation Service
This part of the website has been designed specifically for GPs, Clinical Commissioning groups, care homes and other care professionals who need the service referral information or access to Trust policies and care leaflets.
How do Care Professionals refer into this service?
GPs need to fill in the referral form in the Downloads and useful links section on this page. These forms can emailed to shropcom.ccnadmin@nhs.net or sent by post to Coral House, 11 Longbow Close, Harlescott Lane, Shrewsbury, SY1 3GZ
Anyone who needs any help with the forms or wants to speak to a member of the team should telephone 01743 450 855 option 3.
Types of patients regularly seen
Children aged 6 months to 18 years, with a diagnosis of idiopathic constipation who have been treated and monitored for a period of 6 months or more with little or no improvement.
We accept referrals for patients registered with a Telford & Wrekin GP.
Patients not seen by this service
- Newborns, infants and children who have constipation with a known cause.
- Children who have a primary diagnosis of soiling with no constipation would require a referral to the School Nurses/Health Visitors.
- Children and Young People registered with a Shropshire GP
